About

Hey, I'm Lindye! The face behind Lindye Studios

I have been creating my entire life, before I formed memories, I was covered in paint, clay, any kind of media really. Thank goodness I had parents who encouraged me to create (they had no choice I come from a long line of artists. I am actually wearing my grandmother's paint smock in the photo).

I often get asked, "when did you start pottery?". Well, my mom bought me a cheap plastic wheel when I was very little and we would get air dry clay at the store. I would be entertained for hours on end creating whatever my little heart desired. We also did a few clay projects here and there in elementary and middle school. In high school all of my extracurricular classes were ceramic classes. It consumed my days and ultimately lead to burnout and what I would call failure. College came around and I did not touch a single thing related to ceramics.

Post college, my now husband encouraged me to get back into pottery and got me a pottery wheel! My studio set up wasn't perfect but I would throw when I was in the mood. Once we got engaged I had a wild idea to throw each of our guests a mug as a souvenir. It was tough and they were certainly not my best work, but I am so grateful that I pushed myself beyond my comfort zone to create mugs that will last a lifetime for the people we love most.

Today, I am happily creating ceramics from my home studio with the help of my cat and dog, Hank and Waylon. My supportive husband comes home excited to see what I have thrown and constantly encourages me to keep creating. My goal is to make pottery that is functional and helps us romanticize our everyday, while also supporting small business that is proudly made in the United States of America with American materials.
